Kerala is located on the southwestern coast of India. Because of its location, fish dishes are common and the cuisine is bursting with coconut.

Almost every dish uses coconut, often in grated form, and coconut oil. You don’t necessarily have to buy the latter unless you cook South Indian cuisine very often.

The cuisine is lighter and a bit spicier than North Indian cuisine. However, it must be said that coconut is not very healthy in high quantities. But once in a while it doesn’t hurt and it’s really delicious!
